Frequently asked
Answers to the most common questions about WireMind Pro.
Does WireMind Pro work without internet?
Yes. Every calculation and the on-device assistant run entirely on your iPhone. The app is designed to work fully offline — on site, with no signal, no Wi-Fi, no mobile data required.
Where do the numbers come from?
Every value and every citation is produced by a deterministic calculation engine — never guessed. The optional on-device assistant only turns your plain-language request into calculator inputs and explains results in readable terms; it never invents a value or a clause. Results include the AS/NZS standard edition and clause reference so you know exactly where each number comes from.
Which calculations are available?
Voltage drop, conductor area (mm²), Ohm's law, power conversions, and parallel resistance compute live as you type. Table-based calculations — cable current-carrying capacity, maximum demand, protective-device sizing, and earthing per AS/NZS 3000 / AS/NZS 3008.1.1 — are rolling out with the full suite. For table-based results, you enter the AS/NZS 3008 value from your own copy of the standard; the app applies the correction factors and does the arithmetic.
Which AS/NZS 3000 editions are supported?
WireMind Pro lets you select the edition applicable to your job: AS/NZS 3000:2018, 2007, 2000, and 1991. AS/NZS 3008.1.1:2025 is also supported for cable selection. Switch editions per project so your calculations and citations match the standard in force for the work.
Is my data private?
Yes — nothing leaves your device. WireMind Pro has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no trackers. Your inputs, results, projects, and settings are stored locally on your iPhone. The App Store privacy label shows Data Not Collected across all categories. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
What is the on-device assistant?
The assistant is an optional feature that lets you describe what you need in plain language — for example, "What size cable for a 20 A circuit over 35 metres?" — and converts that into calculator inputs. It uses Apple's on-device foundation model, so your prompts are processed on your iPhone and are not sent to any server. The assistant never invents values or clauses; all numbers come from the calculation engine.
Can I export my calculations?
Yes. WireMind Pro can export clean, cited PDFs from any calculation. Each export includes the result, the inputs, and the AS/NZS standard edition and clause so your documentation is complete and traceable.
What standards does WireMind Pro reference?
WireMind Pro is built around the Australian/New Zealand Wiring Rules (AS/NZS 3000) and AS/NZS 3008.1.1 cable selection. It is a calculation aid and does not replace the standard, a licensed electrician's judgement, or your electrical safety regulator.
When will WireMind Pro be on the App Store?
WireMind Pro is coming soon to the App Store. To be notified when it launches, email gabrieljohnfordan@gmail.com and we'll let you know.
